The Settlement

"Alright, place his hand here and open one eye there." Ayama said.

Amaterasu slumped in her chair.

Mori moved the guard into the specified position, pulling back the man's eyelid. The door buzzed and the sensor light flashed blue. The door swung open and Mori glanced questioningly at Ayama.
"Do we need to keep this guy?"

The scientist rose an eyebrow and jabbed her experimentally with his pen. "You still there?" He queried, hand hovering over his stopwatch.

Hikaru turned from sadi's sleeping figure and moved to Satori's room
her face anxious, she knocked on the door before entering

"Why not, could come in handy right?" Ayama shruged and moved in, rounding the corner she saw her daughter straning against restarint. "I'll fucking kill you!"

The scientist stood up, looking remarkably calm, and ten personal guards sprung in front of him. "Now now, I don't think you want me to kill this one, right?" He asked, waving another needle. "Don't move a step" He said and paused to check his watch. "It's fascinating really, how long your type can hold out"

Mori scowled and dropped the guard at his feet. "What the hell do you want? Get away from her!" He said furiously.

Satori's eyes flickered when she heard her door open. She struggled to lift her head, disease dulled eyes focusing on Hikaru.

"Holy Crow Saa-chan you ain't looking to good!"

Rei growled. "Back off!"

Ayama grabbed hold of the soilder they grabbed and used from before, grabbing a scaple and holding it to his neck. "Give me back my daughter!"

Rei's eyesnarrowed. "WHat makes you think I care about that misrable peice of scum in your arms? Kazzas nothing to us, this one however, she's a wonderful test subject."

Ayama held the scaple ccloser to Kazzas neck. "Say that again and I swear to god." She pasued. "We want Amaterasu and Anei, we broke through your heighest security codes and barriers, what makes you think we can't kill you all now?"

"More demons..." Rei grinned.

Satori's irritable reply was cut off by a a violent fit of coughs. Once they'd eased the dragged the back of her hand over her mouth to remove the flecks of blood and shut her eyes, focusing on pulling air into her lungs.
"You always knew how to improve moods" She said weakly with a light scowl.

"Maybe because we have the tranquilisers - which work - and i'm sure you don't want your sweet little girl with another shot of that stuff in her veins?" He asked and grinned. "I'm sure you don't. Oh, and Kazza can be replaced, he's really just a thron in my side."

"yeah yeah, i know i'm the fuckin anti christ" she said ruefully but still with a smile in her voice
"you hunt up a base ball bat and i'll get you some water"

she left the room in search of the kitchen and returned shortly with a glass of water
and two small tablets
which she put beside the bed

"pain killers," she explained "take 'm if you want but i won't force you"

Ayamas eyes glazed over. "Fine." She said, before slicing the soilders throat, throwing his bleeding limp body to the ground.

The scientist stared boredly at Kazza. "You know, now you lost the pawn of a bargaining chip you had. What're you going to do now? Hmm?" He queried, glancing up at Ayama. Mori growled. This wasn't quite going to plan, they needed to get between Amaterasu and the rest - and that wasn't looking easy.

Satori threw an exausted look at the tablets and let her head drop back onto her pillow. "Maybe later" She whispered. "What did you do to Sadaharu?" She asked quietly between shallow breaths.

"Ah," said Hikaru looking slightly ashamed, scratching the back of her head
"you heard that yeah?"

she smiled, "don't stress, he's asleep on the couch. I'd say take a look for yourself
but i wouldn't recommend it. and I'm not dragging him in here, that boy is heavy!"

Ayama threw the scaple into the wall net to Rei's head, she jumped into the air and grabbed another before placing it beside the scientists head. "Now what do you say? HUH!" She growled, cuting his neck slightly. "Now give me abck the kids."

"Uh... well, this puts a stop to our relationship." He said, frowning as a thin line of blood ran down his neck. "I suddenly see your point of reasoning." He said and sighed. "That's cheating though" He added, glancing at her from the coner of his eye. "Key's in my pocket. Free to move?" he asked, eyeing the manacles.

Satori's mouth twitched into a smile. "I see. So what are you doing here?" She asked tiredly, eyes once again closed.

Hikaru stretched herself out on the chair beside the bed and grimaced slightly
"I figured we'd catch up on old times, but it seems that we have a slight dillema"
she frowned,
"dude, what the hell?"

"Fish them out." Ayama growled. "And realese them both, got it?" She said, pressing the scaple harder once more.
Rei twitched, they wanted to take her away?! This was not in his plan!

The scientist threw a pretty sharp glance a Rei. He didn't want the prized posessions to go either, once he wasn't in any trouble he wanted something done. He pulled out his keys and held them out to Ayama. "Here." He said, wincing. "And cut it out!"

Satori took a shaky breath and fought back another round of coughs. Her face was glistening with sweat, eyes squeezed shut.
"I think you're right" She murmured, not bothering to add to the sentance.

Hikaru's face looked worried but her eyes were scared
"What is this Satori? What the hell is happening to you?!"

Why would she know? She shook her head. "Wouldn't you... know more than me?" She asked, voice softer than before.

Sadaharu's fingers twitched and his eyes moved under his eyelids as the powder began to lose it's effect.

"Uh no! why the hell would i know any thing about it?! Goddamn it Satori! your scaring me!"

Satori didn't respond, features seeming to have relaxed slightly. Each painfully shallow breath drawn through her slightly parted lips could just be heard.

Sadaharu groaned and rose his hands to his head, not yet wondering what he was doing on the couch.

"You do it." Ayama hissed. "Let them free, remove their bonds, got that?"

"allllright! evasive action!" Hikaru shoved the meds in Satori's mouth and held the glass to her lips

Satori's head lolled and she stopped breathing, unable to do so through the water. Sadaharu charged into the room, hand to his head. "Hikaru?!" He roared, stopping by the door. "Leave! Get out now!"

The lab coated man scowled and edged forwards, uncuffing Amaterasu. He then unlocked Anei's cuffs. "Right. You've got what you wanted. Now let me go." He snarled. "And get that off my neck." Mori walked through the guards and gathered Anei into his arms, ignoring the disgusted scientist.

"Mori, get Amaterasu and Anei out of here now, get it?" Ayama said to him as Yuki picked up his sister and held her close.

Rei snarled when he saw her walking away.
