Rhun grinned. "Nice to meet you." He shook David's hand and then returned to tugging at a plank which was lodged into the dock - where it shouldn't have been lodged. "Where were you? When this happened?"

"We only pulled in this morning." David explained, a plank of wood over his shoulder. "Missed the whole ordeal."

"Ah." Rhun pulled up the thankfully smaller plank and walked it to the pile. "So you're with one of them then?" He pointed to the few fishing and merchant boats that had arrived back that morning. "I just live up there." He said with a smile.

"Really?" David asked. "Whats it like?"

"What? Trashed I suppose." He shrugged. "It's alright. How about you? How long do you stay on the ship?"

David licked his lips in thought. "I really havn't thought about it... I guess I always just thought I would."

"Never thought about living in a town?" Rhun asked, more for the sake of conversation than anything. He was feeling anxious.

David smiled to him. "You don't need to talk you know. Its okay to work in silence."

"Talking it better than silence." Rhun said with a quick grin. "So, tell me?"

"Sure I've thought about it, you know Settling down, rasing a few kids but seriously... I can't see it actually happening. I like this life." David said.

Rhun added another plank of broken timber to the pile of debris. "Good that you like it. Never really... well, never been on a boat any bigger than a canoe." He said with a grin. "Looks interesting though."

"Wanna go for a ride?" David asked. "You can come along on the next trip, might earn some gold too."

"That'd be... really great. I'll have to see though... My mum would not like it."

David laughed. "You don't have to matey."

"No, I am interested. Just Dad was taken by the pirates. Not sure where the boats would come in." He said simply and bluntly to explain it. He hadn't meant to sound uninterested.

"Oh." David said. "I'm sorry to hear it."
